Born and based in Belgrade, Serbia, Ivan Jurković is a visual artist of a broad spectrum of mediums and a multi-media musician for over four decades.
His collection of diplomas, earned at the University of the Arts in Belgrade, include a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate, and a Specialization in Fine Arts, Polymedia Art, Packaging Design, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Music (piano, accordion, and music production which was completed at the School of Music “Kosta Manoljović” in Zemun). Throughout his formal training, he spent time in Vienna, Austria as well as Rab, Croatia showcasing audiovisual works internationally in solo and group exhibitions, having residencies, participating in workshops, being a part of acclaimed art colonies, performing music in accompaniment to various forms of visual art both his and that of other artists, and collaborating at film festivals with directors and producers who have used his work in their films.
His style can be described as a juxtaposition of lyrical, poetic, intimate, and ambient while have an underlying desire for an emotional escapism. This is said to leave the viewer uncertain to where their expe
rience begins and where it ends, continuing the ever-flowing waves of different psychological states and emotions. Mr. Jurković works as a freelance painter and polymedia artist while incorporating music of eclectic nature that reflects his visual creations.
