About Artist

Uroš Jaćević

Uros Jacevic, a young, gifted and most promising classical guitar student in Serbia, was born in Belgrade, a beautiful town on two rivers, in 2006. His musical talent was recognized at an early age. He started playing the guitar at the age of 6. Currently, he is attending a Secondary music school in a class of prof. Amalia Miler. As a soloist, he won almost 50 First Prizes and Laureates in international and domestic guitar competitions and about 15 First prizes in chamber music and philharmonic orchestra too.

“I take as much pleasure in performing as a soloist, as I do in playing chamber music or being part of a classical guitar orchestra”, where the breadth and depth of musical talent become even more evident.

The most precious awards for him are the National Award of “The Saint Sava” awarded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development for the year 2019. for outstanding results in educational work as well as the First prize award at the most prestigious international competition, 14th “Anna Amalia” Competition for young guitarist in Weimar, Germany, 2019. The biggest honor and challenge in my life so far was being selected as one of the eight promising young guitarists to perform at the prestigious festival and competition for classical guitarists “Michelle Pittaluga” held in Alessandra in Italy, 2020. There was also the invitation to the International Festival and Competition in Jüchen, in
Germany, 2019 to take part in the opening concert.

Uros played as the youngest guitar soloist, at the age of 11, with the Strings orchestra in a concert at The Endowment Ilije M. Kolarca, Belgrade, The Cultural center of Belgrade, Art gallery Cvijeta Zuzoric, Belgrade and many other venues in Serbia.

“I equally enjoy playing the instrument and studying the compositions of famous composers different styles from J. S Bach, A. Vivaldi or N. Paganini as well as finding something similar in Spanish music of Joaquin Rodrigo. Researching and preparing new compositions is so inspiring that it takes me back to the composer’s time and I strive to capture the right moment and feeling and to interpret it through my instrument in the best possible way. I like to listen to different styles of music and to find the connections in them.”

“I have come to the realisation that commitment and desire coupled with discipline and good and consistent practicing bring about the best results possible”.

“The most valuable thing that I learnt through playing the classical guitar is that friendship is a precious gift one should cherish. Guitar festivals and summer courses are made in honour of guitar and friendship. I thoroughly enjoy them. I met so many great people there, eminent professors and musicians, open for new collaborations and ready for energy exchange. Most of them have already become my favourite guitarists. I have learnt a lot from them about technique and expression of feelings and thoughts through music and playing“.
